APA Citation

APA (American Psychological Association) is generally used in the social sciences (i.e. sociology, education, etc.) at Tyndale.

Question: How should I format my essay using APA?

Your APA formatted essay should contain the following elements:

  • Title page
  • Abstract (optional)
  • Main body
  • Reference list

You should cite when you:

  • Directly quote from a resource
  • Paraphrase another person's idea
  • Summarize another person's idea
